At Sea Kayak Torbay, we provide a wide array of sea tours, ranging from tasters to full-days, relaxed to physical and in multiple locations. Our short taster tours are ideal for younger families, while our longer tours offer a more comprehensive exploration but often at a more relaxed pace. We need not go far as we are blessed with marine wildlife and stunning geology.
We will require a £50 deposit to confirm your seats, and we will contact you 5-7 days before your chosen date to confirm your launch location and provide parking details. Taster Tours from Oddicombe
Suitable for Ages 4 and up – Under-18s Must Be Accompanied by an AdultGroup Size – 4 or more up to 12
Ideal for families and groups of 4 or more, our taster-tours are around 90 minutes long and provide a great way for beginners or young paddlers to access sea kayaking.
Starting with a 20-minute introductory briefing, we will make sure you are comfortable in your chosen boat before setting off to explore Babbacombe Bay and Oddicombes Sea Cave.
What to Bring
All technical clothing and equipment are provided, and we also offer Reeds’ technical Chillcheater clothing, allowing you to paddle at any time of year. On a cooler day, we’d always advise you to bring gym wear under our semi-dry gear. While it’s usually possible to keep your feet dry, we advise you to bring old or wet shoes. You may also bring a swimsuit or change of clothes in case you want to swim.
Safety Information
We can cater to children from the age of 4, providing they can fit a safety buoyancy aid. We always recommend that children under 16 paddle tandem with an adult and will be happy on their own in their cockpit. Our guides are on hand to paddle in tandem with any of our guests if required. If you feel as though you may require an engine, this option can be available, granting you a safe but exciting experience.
Half-Day Tours
Suitable for Ages 4 and up – Under-16s Must Be Accompanied by an AdultGroup Size – 2 to 12 People
Join us for a half-day adventure across the English Riviera. Exploring several bays, from limestone to sandstone coves with their own caves and caverns to explore.
We will stop on a remote beach for a picnic, spend time observing seals, and hopefully be visited by our local dolphin colony.
You will leisurely paddle around the Geopark hearing about the amazing history of our rocks and the stories they hold. If you haven’t been kayaking for years or this is your first time, you’ll be amazed by this immersive option.
What to Bring
We encourage customers to bring snacks at least or lunch and water and in the summer months, we recommend you wear shorts and sports tops. Weather conditions may change, but we will also outfit you with any technical clothing you may require. Don’t worry about bringing a camera, as we have a waterproof one to snap images as we go and we will happily forward them to you after the trip is complete.

Why not fully immerse yourself in the English Riviera and the South Devon coastline and meet its marine residents and visiting Cetacean wildlife. You will get to see both the high and low tides which will allow us to explore crystal coves, ancient coral coasts, and raised beaches, and paddle through caves, caverns, and natural arches.
A full-day tour provides a great opportunity to really relax and explore the area’s history, flora, and fauna at a comfortable pace. Whilst having the time to stop and enjoy fresh filleted local fish cooked by your guide on hot-stones. Topped off with an afternoon swim on a secluded beach and warmed with a beach fire and toasted marshmallows.
Evening Tours from Oddicombe
Suitable for Ages 4 and up – Under-18s Must Be Accompanied by an AdultGroup Size – 4 to 12 People
Available from June to August, our evening tours take advantage of stunning sunsets across Lyme Bay. These spectacular tours are a unique experience due to the movement of the sun around the bay and the tranquillity of the water after 6pm. Feel free to bring refreshments for your group and enjoy the beauty of the bay.
